Lifetime Guarantee & Legal Disclaimer

For the purposes of this document, TEC – The Exhaust Company Ltd is referred to as "TEC".

This warranty applies only to custom-built exhaust systems installed by TEC on road-legal vehicles. Any involvement in motorsports activities (including but not limited to track days, drag racing, drifting) voids all warranty coverage.

TEC fabricates and supplies products suitable for various applications. Use in motorsport or off-road environments is strictly at the customer's own risk.

Warranty applies solely to the original purchaser and vehicle, provided TEC has installed the system and the vehicle remains roadworthy. Transferring ownership voids the warranty unless specifically agreed upon in writing with TEC.

This warranty covers defects in workmanship only. It does not cover damage due to misuse, neglect, unauthorized modifications, or accidents (including speed bumps or external impacts).

Customer Responsibility

- Any vehicle modification, including exhaust replacement, may alter performance and emissions.
- Customers accept full liability for road legality, insurance implications, and consequences of use.
- TEC is not responsible for any resulting personal injury or property damage.
- If any work is carried out by third parties before TEC inspects a warranty claim, coverage is void.
- Issues must be inspected first by TEC to maintain warranty eligibility.

Warranty Exclusions

The following are not covered under warranty:
• Corrosion/discoloration that does not cause leakage.
• Vibration or impact damage (e.g. speed bump strikes).
• Rubber mount failure after 12 months.
• Motorsport or non-standard use.
• Work or alterations by any third party.
• Cleaning damage to tips (from acidic products or abrasion).

Parts Use Disclosure

Any Decat Downpipes or DPF Deletes are sold for off-road/track use only and must not be used on public roads. It is the buyer’s responsibility to ensure compliance with local emissions and MOT regulations.

Inspection & Claims

Appointments must be scheduled for inspection. Proof of purchase is required. If a failure is confirmed as TEC’s fault, we will repair or replace at our discretion. Travel or recovery costs are not covered.

If the exhaust system has been tampered with or damaged (physically, chemically, or via excessive heat), the warranty is void. Labour inspection fees may apply (£25–£60).

Transfer of Guarantee

Warranties are non-transferable unless explicitly agreed in writing. Materials (e.g., stainless steel, titanium) are excluded from lifetime coverage, but workmanship is covered under the stated conditions.
